Elvin "Doc" Holliday,
District 3C
Elvin “Doc” Holliday was born and raised in DeRidder, Louisiana. Doc has lived in Beauregard Parish most of his life. He is married to his wife of 32 years, Elisa and has 4 children. He is also a Vietnam Veteran.
Doc worked as the Safety Manager for a company that helped rebuild a major refinery after a disastrous fire. He oversaw the safety of the project and was successful in recording over 2,000,000 man-hours with no lost time accidents. After that, Doc moved to a company that oversaw the retrofitting of the San Francisco Bay Bridge where he performed dual roles as the night superintendent and safety manager over the project. He was also very instrumental in completing the project with no lost-time accidents. Doc continued in the safety field and added to his resume by acquiring his safety certification for Mining & Tunneling. He was the Safety Manager for a project that consisted of installing a 96” waterline under the City of Walnut Creek, California. After that, Doc moved on to become the Safety Director of the largest highway improvement contractor in California. This contractor also did road work in Oregon and Nevada. Doc was instrumental in implementing the policies and procedures that earned the company numerous awards for safety excellence. After several years, Doc decided it was time to move his family back to their roots so he brought them home to Beauregard Parish. Presently, Doc holds the title of Environmental Health & Safety Manager for American Water Military Services Group at our local military base, Ft. Polk. Since arriving home and working at Ft. Polk, Doc and the American Water team has been instrumental in developing the policies and procedures that has helped elevate American Water’s Ft. Polk operations to the standard that other American Water MSG bases are striving to meet.
Doc looks forward to working for the people of his District 3C and working with the Police Jurors to improve the quality of life in all of Beauregard Parish.
