About the Public Works Office
The main objective of the Public Works Office is to improve, maintain, and make repairs to public roads throughout the parish. Many of the repairs and maintenance are based upon calls received from the public.
Duties also include culvert and flood permitting. We set culverts for individuals along public right-of-ways after being purchased by property owners. Flood permits are necessary to insure no one builds in a flood zone without being above the flood elevation. Without this permit, electricity cannot be connected.
Submitting a Request Form
To make a request, call the main Public Works office at (337) 462-0675 or toll free at (800) 525-3795. When we receive a phone call, a request form is initiated. This form goes to both the Public Works Manager and the road foreman in the area of the request or complaint.
After investigation, a work order is generated, when necessary, placed on a schedule for the correct road foreman, then the necessary work is performed.
We always do our best to answer requests and complaints in a timely manner.
