250 Seventh Street, DERIDDER
What is now called the War Memorial Civic Center was accepted by the United Services Organizations on December 1, 1941. It was the first center built specifically for and donated to U.S.O. The building was used as a home away from home for Off-duty soldiers from Camp Polk and DeRidder Army Air Force Base. Plaques commemorating Generals Bradley, Mark Clark, Eisenhower, Marshall and Patton mark meeting halls named in their honor. The building is now primarily used for meeting, wedding and social functions; however the building is open to the public on Monday-Friday 8-4 p.m.  Admission is free. 337-463-7212
